ADHD assessment

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects attention, impulse control, and activity levels. Identifying ADHD can provide individuals with access to tailored support, strategies, and interventions to help them succeed in daily life. Our comprehensive ADHD assessment at InPsych Mind is designed to provide clarity and a pathway to effective management.

We conduct ADHD assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. Everyone is welcome!

How to identify ADHD

ADHD can present in different ways, often categorised into three types: inattentive, hyperactive-impulsive, or combined. Common symptoms include:

  • Difficulty sustaining attention on tasks or activities

  • Frequent forgetfulness and disorganisation

  • Impulsivity, such as interrupting conversations or difficulty waiting for turns

  • Hyperactivity, including restlessness or excessive talking

  • Struggles with time management and task completion

  • Challenges in school, work, or relationships due to inattention or impulsivity

If you or your child experience these signs, an assessment may provide valuable insights and access to support.

Assessment Process

Our ADHD assessment follows a structured, evidence-based approach, including:

  1. Initial Consultation – A discussion of current concerns, developmental and medical history.

  2. Standardised Testing – Use of diagnostic tools such as the Conners Rating Scales, DIVA-5, and clinical interviews.

  3. Behavioural Observations – Assessment of attention, impulsivity, and executive functioning.

  4. Feedback Session – Collaborative exploration of results, diagnosis (if applicable), and recommendations.

  5. Comprehensive Report – A detailed summary outlining findings, diagnosis, and tailored individualised strategies for support.

What happens after the assessment?

Following the assessment, we provide:

  • Personalised recommendations for interventions, therapy, and lifestyle strategies

  • Assistance with school or workplace accommodations

  • Guidance on next steps, including referrals to specialists and psychiatrists for medication if needed
